FOUR WAY POINT

I thought I saw it all falling into place
Just then, a few hit the brakes
I realized I was on a four way street
Half way down there, the lights turned green

I drove as the clear sky echoed my serenity

The music I had on, sang straight to me
I stopped at the light as my thoughts drove off
That's when, I see her glide and then freeze to a stop.

Fraught on solutions, I start my flight

'Dreams for some, cost a dime'
I left the pack, belieiving I would
Found myself, learning more than I should

    Uncertain conclusions, amdist furious questions

    I make a few lies, today's solutions
I have to pick a goal, so I can begin
My drive today with a new life mission

Random temporary landings part of my path

So much is clear, as I fly off and start
I see it across the busy intersection
I descend carefully as I ponder on my next action

Transfixed now at the rare pleasure

A determined butterfly crossing route 29's measure
Majestic, yet a little flustered by the urban intereference
She glides on with purpose- a row of drivers entranced with the occurence.

I look either way to see red, 'was taught that's when to move ahead'

My dreams secure, I ascend again for my landing pad
Only to hear the sudden rage and feel the gust of motor fumes
A whole side of the road seemed to charge to an angry tune.

The music in the car and the bright sun dissolve to a distance and hide

I feel one with the promise of her determined flight
I'm awakened from my lesson, loud honks from behind
I oblige and start my turn, at the waiting green light

As I turn, I get close enough to see

Her determination a little faltered, as she struggles and keels
Moving few yards ahead, a look in the rear view mirror
Tells me her far reaching dreams at this point don't matter..

I drive on dazed and pull up at my parking spot

Stop and wonder about what just came about
Did she make it across- somehow I think I would too, if she did
She'd find her dime, the lesson was so naked...

I froze and whirled across a few furtive glances, as some sped my way,

Turning with a faint screech, I caught another's eyes, a sympathetic and encouraging pair
Closed mine, flew blindly and then opened them to a gentle thud
I had reached across and bumped my wings against a Dandelion bud.
